Release yourself: 3’30” single channel video montage (2010)

presented in ‘Reports from an Ordinary Satellite: Work in progress from MA Photography at the London College of Communication’ in the Rhubarb-Rhubarb photography festival: July 27th – August 2nd 2010 @ AE Harris, 110 Northwood St, Birmingham, B3 1SZ

Three isolated dancing figures appear and disappear on a black screen. Originally recorded on different dance floors, the background is masked out in order to focus on the individual dancers but the original sounds remain, alternating in time with the figures. The low lighting and u.v glow on the white garments create a mesmerising study of movement emphasised by the lack of context and the alternating clips.
